VALORISH in a Nutshell

VALORISH is an EU-funded project dedicated to developing an innovative, computationally-assisted methodology for guiding the design and implementation of a cascade biorefinery approach to valorise waste and by-products from the fishing industry.

The primary objective of VALORISH is to transform waste and by-products from the fishing industry into valuable resources using a circular biorefinery concept. Moreover, advanced computational tools will support the design, modelling, optimisation, and scale-up of key biorefinery processes. High-value bioproducts will be produced with several targeted applications including food products, nutraceuticals, food additives, and supplements.

The VALORISH consortium consists of 9 partners from 4 European countries: Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Norway. This multidisciplinary team includes 4 Research and Technology Organisations (RTOs), 3 Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), and 2 Large Enterprises (LEs). Together, they bring the necessary scientific, technical, and industrial expertise to achieve the ambitious goals of the project.
